Welding Gloves
Welding gloves are heavy-duty protective gloves specifically engineered to shield hands and forearms from extreme heat, sparks, spatter, and UV/infrared radiation generated during welding processes. Made from thick, heat-resistant leather, they provide the durability and insulation needed for prolonged exposure to high temperatures while still allowing enough control for precise welding work.
Materials
- Outer shell: Thick cowhide, split leather, goatskin, deerskin, or elk leather
- Lining: Cotton, foam, or Kevlar/aramid lining for heat insulation and comfort
- Stitching: Kevlar or heat-resistant thread
- Cuff/gauntlet: Extended leather gauntlet cuff (4 to 7 inches) to protect wrist and forearm
- Palm reinforcement: Double-layered leather patch for high-wear, high-heat contact areas
- Welded seams on select models to reduce exposed stitching on the palm
Protection
- Heat resistance: withstands direct contact up to 250–500°C depending on grade and lining
- Flame resistance: leather naturally resists open flame and will not melt like synthetic materials
- Spark and spatter resistance from thick leather construction
Usage
- MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Metal fabrication and foundry work
- Blacksmithing and forging
- Cutting and grinding
- Furnace and kiln work
